d-Bodhi is a company with an eye on the big picture ... how we use and reuse our resources … how we treat our workers, customers and partners ... how by working together, each part of the whole can grow.

Our main product line is and will remain 100% FSC recycled, also called reclaimed, teak furniture. In addition we create complementary products out of other materials.

Yet our company is not our furniture or accessories. It's all about people. It's our wood collectors and craftspeople, our design team and managers. It's our valued customers, distributors and partners.

After several years in the furniture trade working with recycled teak wood, d-Bodhi's parent company sought to help customers understand the importance of reusing old wood by applying for FSC certification. In 2006, after a year-long process, we were the first company in the Asia Pacific region to receive the Forest Stewardship Council – FSC – certification for 100% recycled teak wood.

Building on this strong foundation, in November 2007, we created d-Bodhi based in Singapore.

The 'd' in our name comes from Raymond Davids, our founder's last name. And 'Bodhi' is the Sanskrit word for 'enlightenment' or 'awakening.'

This is our challenge and our calling. To create a range of premium furniture lines from the most humble materials that is beautiful, well crafted, sustainable, and keeps our ecological footprint to a minimum. To value our employees, our business partners, our distributors, and our end customers through sound business practices, social policies and strong customer service.

Since our first appearance at the International Furniture Fair, Singapore in March 2008 – where we won the Best Dining Room Exhibit Award – we've continued to expand our distributors in Europe, Australia, Asia and Canada.

April 2009 saw the opening of our 5,000 square foot flagship store in an industrial estate formerly known for its automobile showrooms. d-Bodhi is leading the way to developing the area into a new lifestyle hub in Singapore.

d-Bodhi will work closely with various government agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to spearhead initiatives to raise environmental awareness at both our Singapore showroom and in Yogyakarta, Java where we produce our furniture. The possibilities are many, from art exhibitions to educational tours.
